  Chondroitin sulfate is an acidic mucopolysaccharide extracted from animal cartilage, mainly composed of chondroitin sulfate A, C, and various mixtures of chondroitin sulfate cartilage. Chondroitin sulfate is widely present in animal cartilage, laryngeal bone, nasal bone, as well as in tissues such as tendons, ligaments, skin, and cornea. In cartilage, chondroitin sulfate binds to proteins to form proteoglycans and binds to collagen.

Traits:

  The appearance is white powder, odorless, with strong water absorption. It is easily soluble in water and forms a high viscosity solution. It is insoluble in organic solvents such as ethanol and others. Its salts are relatively stable to heat and are not damaged when heated up to 80 ℃. Chondroitin sulfate aqueous solution is unstable when exposed to high temperatures or acids, mainly due to deacetylation or degradation into monosaccharides or polysaccharides with smaller molecular weights.
