  Food Safety System Certification 22000 (FSSC 22000) is a sound ISO based certification scheme widely recognized for the purpose of auditing and certifying food safety throughout the entire supply chain.

   FSSC 22000 is a food safety system certification specifically designed for organizations in the food industry chain. Organizations that can apply for this certification include manufacturers of processed or manufactured animal products, perishable plant products, long shelf life products, and (other) food ingredients (such as additives, vitamins, and biological culture products), as well as food packaging manufacturing.

    FSSC 22000 adopts the existing ISO 22000, ISO 22003 standards, and Industry Precedent Program (PRP) technical specifications, and has been developed through extensive and open consultations with numerous relevant organizations. Manufacturers who have obtained ISO 22000 certification can obtain FSSC 22000 certification fully accepted by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) as long as they meet the additional requirements of industry PRP technical specifications and plans.
